The Battery Systems Test Engineer has the exciting job of testing functionality of solutions which will be used in battery systems and subsystems for high-performance vehicles. The candidate for this role must have a genuine passion for engineering the best electric vehicles in the world. This role requires a good understanding of mechanical and electrical (basic) engineering. The Battery Systems Engineering team collaborates closely with other departments and works on perhaps the most exciting automotive programs in existence today. As a fast-moving company, we adopt new techniques and technologies on a regular basis so the candidate must be ready for constant learning and embracing new technologies.


1) Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of test equipment 
  • Devising test plans and test methods
  • Taking care of measuring equipment
  • Providing support during test operations
  • Executing tests


2) Main tasks:

  • Battery pack systems and subsystems testing, along with material and cell testing
  • Designing test jigs in collaboration with other team members (mechanical engineers)
  • Design, development and managing of testing equipment
  • Support during the testing and testing of products and systems


3) Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of physics, electronics and measurement equipment
  • Experience in one (or more) of the following aspects: electronics, physical processes, measuring equipment and sensors 
  • Understanding of electro-mechanical components, sensors and their characteristics
  • At least basic knowledge of Lithium-based battery cells
  • Self-organized and goal-oriented
  • Understanding of mechanical structures 
  • Basic knowledge of thermodynamics
  • Very good knowledge of English (written and spoken) is essential
  • Communicative teamwork player
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in the relevant field of study
  • Excellent knowledge of office tools (Excel and Word)


4) Considered as an advantage:

  • Experience in engineering development

  • Good knowledge of production technology
  • Experience in mechatronics
  • Experience with Matlab and LabView
