Senior Mechanical Engineer - Trims (m/f)

We are now looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Trims who will work on the development of interior and exterior trim systems for our vehicles using 3DX (CATIA) software.

You will be developing interior and exterior trims for upcoming Rimac sports cars based on input from the Design, Aerodynamics and CAE teams. This role involves a lot of interaction with the industrialisation and manufacturing departments – developing tools, moulds and jigs for production, figuring out the best way to manufacture certain parts etc.

1. Responsibilities:

  • Development of interior and exterior trim systems for our vehicles
  • Cooperation with our Style, Manufacturing and Quality & Industrialisation departments to develop optimal designs of new components and improve existing ones
  • Defining key characteristics, functionalities and development requirements for each component that needs to be developed

2. Work Tasks:

  • Development of new components using 3DX (CATIA)
  • 3D modeling of prototypes
  • Testing and analysis of developed components
  • Optimisation of existing interior and exterior trim systems
  • Documenting the development process and the testing of components
  • Choosing materials for the development of new components and communicating with suppliers

3. Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of CATIA v5 or NX
  • Circa 5 years of experience in automotive industry is required, especially in interior and exterior trims design
  • Bachelors or higher Degree (Mechanical Engineering background)
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken
  • Strong understanding of overall vehicle components and functionalities
  • Team player
  • Great communication skills

4. Desirable (but not compulsory):

  • Knowledge of FEM & CFD analysis
  • Advanced knowledge in CATIA v6/3DX
  • Knowledge of plastic and composites production technologies
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical engineering
  • Good command of the German language - written and spoken
