Rimac Automobili is looking for an engineer who can design, maintain, explain and document complex vehicle control systems from a high-level perspective.

As a System and Safety Engineer, you will meet with stakeholders to determine what is expected of a system – eliciting requirements which the system design shall satisfy. You will study documentation and communicate with engineers to understand what is possible to implement – understanding how the requirements can be satisfied. Then, you will build a conceptual design of the system, writing documentation and diagrams which form a cohesive and comprehensive description of the system and its requirements.

Your work will determine how the control system behaves and interacts with other parts of the vehicle. The documents you produce will deliver the understanding necessary for system implementation, as well as Functional Safety activities according to ISO26262.

1. Responsibilities

  • Making sense of varied and complex coupled control systems
  • Defining and explaining the interactions between systems
  • Eliciting requirements from stakeholders
  • Writing documentation and diagrams


2. Requirements

  • Real-world experience with implementing control systems
  • Experience writing and understanding high-level system requirements
  • Experience eliciting high-level requirements from stakeholders with varying levels of technical proficiency
  • Experience further developing requirements with highly technical engineering staff
  • Experience with model-based design in Simulink and Stateflow
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Extremely systematic, clear and precise writing style


3. Optional Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics
  • Basic knowledge of electric powertrain components
  • Experience with the ISO26262 standard and safety process
  • Experience with a requirements management system (e.g. Jama)
  • Knowledge of SysML or other semi-formal modelling methods
